Support 7 attended the scene of a water rescue late last night and into the early hours of this morning. The GO train, along with its estimated 1,400 passengers, became stranded due to rising water levels and localized flooding adjacent to the Don River. Passengers retreated to the upper level of the double-decker cars as emergency crews converged on the scene. Water rescue teams were mobilized from across the Greater Toronto Area with units coming from as far as Peel, York, and Durham Regions.
Responders were extremely appreciative of our cold drinks and snacks, as many had been on scene since the ordeal began some six hours prior.
