Time of Alarm: 15:23
Station 345 crews found a well-advanced fire on the second floor of this large, century old church which was in the process of being converted to condos. With fire in the walls, the blaze advanced quickly to the top floor and roof space, forcing an exterior attack. Aerial 345 and Aerial 423 set up on Dufferin, Aerial 426 was put into service from the back and Tower 331 was added later. Much of the roof collapsed; hand lines were used from an adjacent building and the ground as the TFS made fairly quick work of the major blaze. The likely cause was determined to be a welder’s torch. A total of twelve GTMAA volunteers responded to this blaze.
