Gord MacBride honoured with Barry White Award

Member Gord MacBride (third from left) accepts his award in the presence of TFS, TPFFA, and GTMAA officials.

On Friday March 27, 2015 the GTMAA had the privilege of presenting one of our members with the Barry White Award, which is bestowed annually to volunteers on Box 12 or Support 7 for their outstanding and dedicated service to Toronto Professional Fire Fighters at emergency calls. The presentation was held at the 86th Annual TPFFA Off-Duty & Media Awards held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto.

This years’ recipient was Gord MacBride, a life member of our organization with over thirty five years of service. Gord was instrumental in establishing our canteen service operations with the Scarborough Fire Department, and continued to act as a liaison when our current truck (Support 7) was being conceptualized and placed into service.

He has served as a club officer on our Executive Board and has always risen to the occasion when needed, spending countless hours at many special events and conventions over the years. Gord is a valued contributor that embodies everything our club stands for and strives to achieve.

Congratulations Gord.
