Bruce was a young and energetic member of our association that was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 21. Bruce courageously endured a decade of treatment with perseverance and a positive attitude, though sadly, his battle came to an end on his 31st birthday in 1988.

For the past two decades the GTMAA has kept Bruce’s spirit alive by hosting a annual fundraising dinner in his memory. All proceeds from this event support the Bruce Beauchamp Memorial Fund, which has made significant contributions to community organizations and healthcare advancements in the City of Toronto. Helping others in the community is a fitting tribute to Bruce’s generosity.

The Beauchamp Family shared these kind words at our most recent fundraiser:

Portrait of BruceTo the Greater Toronto Multiple Alarm Association:

As custodians of the Bruce Beauchamp Memorial Fund, we would like to express our gratitude for your generous fundraising in his memory. The fact that each year, you gather fire service personnel and associates from around the world to celebrate his life and contribute to the fund means a lot to us, and we know it would to Bruce as well.

The impact our beloved Bruce has made through his legacy is amazing, and the GTMAA has played a key role. To date, proceeds from ticket sales to your annual dinner have raised well over $10,000. As of the end of 2013, the fund’s capital had exceeded $600,000, and with the help of Toronto Community Foundation (TCF), we have disbursed more than $300,000 over the years to many deserving health-related causes.

With sincere thanks for your kindness and generosity,
The Family of Bruce Beauchamp
